VRR - The Start of September!
We did a great job in August! We surpassed our goal by 64 miles! What a group of runners we are!
I have placed 300 miles as our goal for September (75 miles per weekend). Is that good? Should we do more? Less? Let's talk about it...
Remember to report your miles that you run on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday!
Congratulations go to MarathonChris for sponsoring the "Run For The Fallen" on Runner+. I believe that group of runners did substantially more than 8,000 miles! That IS a great result!
I know that I will have some long runs this month, After all, the Chicago Marathon is on October 12th.
Let's have another great month!
I need to stop now... I just keep runnin' on and on...

Hi Charlie - I did 20 today so add that to the list! yay
I am so jealous! You already have the Looooong run done for the week of training! I will run mine tomorrow morning!
Congratulations! We are going to succeed in Chicago!
I did 9 miles in glorious 65 degree weather early this morning! That's my weekend total. :)
Now... My 20 miles has been completed! Phew!
My Garmin Forerunner 205 showed 20.48 miles and my iPod showed 20.15 miles.
Lets call it 20.15!
21 for me -- Super slow pace but I got it done!!
I've got another 20-miler next week and a marathon end of this month so I'll be contributing probably 70-75 miles in September. Maybe see how we do the first week and guesstimate/extrapolate for the rest of the month?
I think with the extra runners on deck we can do about 100 miles a week. We should go for at least 350 but perhaps 400 miles.
Put me down for 12 miles! Step back week for me. :-)
I ran 12 miles on Saturday! Next weekend is the AWBC in LA but I'm not sure if I'll be doing a whole 26.2 on Saturday or just the 13.1 so I don't hurt myself in the midst of all this Marathon training.
OMG- I think we need to update our goal for the month. I know we have one less weekend but we're racking in those miles already! Good Job GUYS and GALS!
Sorry group, I need to post my first "goose-egg", a big ZERO. Nursing a mild injury and not wanting to take a chance.
Congratulations to all those who completed the long runs this weekend, great job.
I promise to contribute next week!
Topic for discussion; how do you "taper" prior to your marathon. I have my system, would like to hear others??
I ran 20 miles on Sunday. Feeling good and strong. Chicago is going to be AWESOME!
1. 123.4 miles with most of us reporting! What a weekend for a run! We should raise our expectations!
2. Taper? Chicago will be my first full marathon ever. I am going to follow the schedule as I don't know what to do different.
With the half-marathons that I have done, I generally take the day before and the day after off. I give it what I can on race day, then.
Thanks for letting me join! You've posted my miles already, but I had the best run Sunday. 9.25 great miles. I started slow (13 min miles0 and my last mile split was 10:34. I ran exactly as I wanted to, negative splits and all. I really feel confidence now about getting into the teens.
Sorry for all the big zeroe's gang! Hope to be back with a bang now.
Ran 10.1 miles on Sunday the 7th. Felt great to finish 10 miles again.. SMILE
Nice job, runners!!
