Thoughts on the Disney Meet Up

After trying to meet up with David Peach and MarathonGirl this past week (Maddy couldn't make it) it can be pretty tricky to work out a meeting.

I also see that NYLisa comes in Sat morning.

Here are my preferences since I am Goofy bound and have a race on Sat and Sun.

Saturday morning we (hubby and I, MarathonGirl and Maddy) will be running the half marathon. Given the 6 am race start, delays to get to the start line and a plan to run this one easy (goal to run 2:45 - 3:00 hour race), I don't expect we will finish the half until around 9:30 - 10 am. Hubby and I want to seek out massage and maybe some ice at the finish line area before moving on to help put us back in shape for Sunday. In addition, we want to get home early enough to get to bed and ready for a second rising time of around 2:45 am.

So....my preference for a meet up would be around 11:30 or 12 for lunch for around an hour or so. Maybe downtown Disney or somewhere near there - 192 has lots of places.

What is everyone else's preference?

If this doesn't work for everyone else, don't let us hold you guys back. I just don't want to be in the Disney area after 2 pm-ish because we want to get home (45 min drive) and prep for an early morning start before the marathon.

I wish I was running Disney. It sounds like you guys will have a great time and I'll be thinking of you.

Today I did a Hash House Harrier run and it was so FUN! We got in 6miles (maybe a little more but I'll stick to that). We stopped for Brunch near the end and got to visit and talk with the faster runners too since most of the time they are headed out before I even finish the run. LOL

As it stands right now, I have 2 days booked at the Coronado Springs Resort. My plan is to run the half with the same goal as Chris - 2:45 - 3:00. And then do a whole lot of resting on Saturday.

Chris, do you think it would be better to meet up Sunday morning before the race? It may not be as much fun becuase there will be no coffee or food, but we're all going to be there...

Logistically, I think it might be easier.

Thoughts everyone?

Maddy, you are probably right a Sunday morning before the marathon would probably be easiest! It won't be a long meeting, but I think it would work.

We would plan to meet between 4 am and 4:30 am - perhaps shoot for 4:15 am. We could meet near the bag check tent?

What do you think?

I think that will work for me as well. Saturday morning I fly in but will have to try and find my way to the registration area. Sunday morning at the bag check sounds good!

Hey guys,

I've been out of the loop for several months, but am looking forward to the marathon on Sunday! I remember an initial thought of meeting up Saturday evening in Celebration for a pasta dinner. Is that offer still on the table? I will be arriving early Friday AM and am booked for a week in the Disney Boardwalk Villas. Saturday around noon I think we will be exploring the Universal parks...but all plans are flexible. We're just looking forward to having a fun time in the happiest place on Earth )
