Roctober - Weekend #2
Good luck everyone. Those with competitions? Put that training to the test! Go for it!
Record your miles in a comment below!
What a weekend! I never knew that so many people take walk breaks in their runs. Hmmm... We should really talk more!
Next weekend? I will be in Los Angeles! Family fun, but with a twist! Two of these family members will be running the Las Vegas Rock'n'Roll Half-Marathon with me! A long run is in the cards, I bet!

Alright... Today was my long run and my qualifier for the WWFOR! I signed up originally for the half, but changed to the 5k after I found out about the Plantar Fasciitis. I ran 7.05 miles today using the Galloway Method! I sure do like it!
14 for me! (13.1 plus an extra .9)
I live by Galloway - 16.1 miles completed by running 5 min and walking 1 min at a pace of 11:57 min/mi. Works for me! :-)
Oh, and no PF issues....
18 miles for me. And with the heat index near 100 today, I too was taking walk breaks to survive.
Charlie, sorry to hear about your cat :-(
30 miles for me, the temp was in the upper 20's, windchill in the upper teens when I started. It did get to the upper 30's later in the run. I am not ready for winter again.
Forgot to add, I too only survive with walking breaks.
My marathon is behind me, so put me down for 26.2 miles.
Had fun running in the "cold" weather of upstate New York. It was 38 at the start, finished at 55 degrees.
I am now an official "Boston Qualifier" !!!!
Hey guys! :o) Been a while since I blogged on as it were... Anyhow, just a thought for you gang... I've been looking and participating on a website called "RunSaturday.com" it's quite a good community and what's more you can set "challenges" either for yourself, a group of friends or for everyone which the website tracks. Takes uploads from most gadgets, including direct from a keyboard!
It's worth a look IMHO.... if you drop by my username is Dorisimo be sure to say "hi" if you like :O)
In the meantime, happy training!!! Go for it in "Roctober" :o)
